March is such a busy and exciting month in the Northern hemisphere.
Our patience is often rewarded by the first Spring like days where the sun feels warm and nature starts to display all the growth that's been witing underground.
We have a lunar ecclipse this month with the moon truning red also known as the blood moon and if you're interested there are a few auspicous and powerful connotations to the blood moon you may wantto research in your own time.
Here's our yoga moon guide for the month:
3rd March Full moon (Worm moon) Drawing down into the ground as the name suggests beginning to loosen the soil preparing for rapid growth of the season.
A powerful lunar eclipse this month goes a bit further though…It brings a duality of energy wanting to release old patterns and bury them for good whilst awakening new opportunities by being prepared to put the work in.
We go underground for these few days - staying close to your mat, finding strong balances but also releasing self limiting thoughts.
Light a candle and allow your meditations to be guided by what you don’t need anymore and replace them with attainable goals and a solid next step.
11th - 18th March Last Quarter Pruning in earnest and getting into the weeds.
It can be a quiet period of inner enquiry without the need to see visible growth we’re doing the work. Maintaining new habits formed or enjoying a change in our practise. Think of it as a settling period, finding contentment can be a novel idea in a world that’s very much goal driven. Fertilise and feed your soul do something that brings you joy. Think of playful asana or giving back by volunteering your time in the community.
19th - 25th March New moon to first Quarter
This new moon will feel a little lighter than a Winter one as the lighter days begin to return and we prepare to change the clocks. If you ‘re feeling a little tired it’s the perfect time to go within be restorative or slow and powerful. There’s no need to shine.
As the moon begins to wax we start to think more towards vitality and upward growth for Spring!
The trees are pollinating and the birds are in full song. Take your practise outside if you can eve if you still need to wrap up. Dust off your plans, planting and sowing is the name of the game now and prepare for abundant growth incoming.
